Immersive media composer Emerson Voss creates dramatized reinterpretations of everyday mundanities, integrating music and field recordings, video and lighting, performance and narrative, as well as site-specificity and audience interactivity. These intimate installations, designed for one to three participants at a time, recently premiered in Novi Sad, Serbia and Oslo, Norway. Last year, he presented his scholarly research on Norwegian public arts funding in Seoul, South Korea and Lucca, Italy. In May of this year, he was invited to the second international Scent Art Festival in Riga, Latvia. There, he will give a lecture on his multisensory music-theatrical methodology of the everyday and premiere a 30-minute multimedia guided meditation in a bathroom for one participant at a time. Emerson holds a PhD in Music Composition and Theory from the University of Pittsburgh. Currently, he is part of the music faculties at the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University.
