Ravi Iyer Trio

Ravi Iyer is a renowned Carnatic percussionist. He was trained by Sri Madurai Shanmugam Pillai and received advanced training from Sri Trichy Raghava Iyer. He has accompanied several musicians and dancers in India and abroad. He has performed fusion concerts with Hindustani and western percussion instruments and regularly features in world music festival and national folk festivals hosted every year across the US. Ravi recently performed in “the 28th Lotus World Music and Arts Festival”, one of the oldest world music festivals taking place in Bloomington, Indiana in September 2021. He teaches and mentors students interested in the art of Mridangam and rhythm.

Krithi Iyer is a sophomore student who has been immersed in learning carnatic vocal
music for about 10 years. She has won several awards in multiple musical competitions
in North America. She has participated in multiple musical events, like the prestigious
Cleveland Tyagaraja Aaradhana, including programs such as Sustaining Sampradhaya
and others.

Aravind Balasubramanyam began his foray into the field of music with the violin in Carnatic style under the tutelage of Smt. Poosarla Dwaram Manorama, granddaughter of the legendary violinist Dwaram Venkataswamy Naidu at the age of 10. He then was a disciple of Kalanidhi Smt. Kanyakumari and her students Sri. Rajesh and Smt. Hemamalini in Chennai for 3 years. For the last few years, he is self-taught, following the style, harmonics and manifold innovations of the great Dr. M Balamuralikrishna’s, whose recordings are available and plentiful on various digital platforms and analog sources.
